'round my way, there is loads of fantastic wild fruit growing on hedgerows (blackberries and sloes especially), but I already make my own sloe gin. there is also some other fruits growing in my garden. my question is, how would you go about making your own calvados (apple liqueur) or creme de mure (blackberry liqueur) and what alcohol would you base it on?

Try putting the fruits into a bottle of vodka. Leave to ferment for a few days and voila there you are.
