Hi All,
I had gone through this almost 3 years ago, and the dizziness lastest almost 4 months. Then it went away. After meeting with my GP, ENT, Allergist, Neurologist, and a physical therapist! All tests that were taken came back normal. My GP was getting sick of seeing me every week, and told me that it will pass in a few weeks, its probably just a viral infection. He just gave up.
Let me ask you guys this...
Do any of you clench your teeth? I clenched, and grinded my teeth for years. Three years ago, I was under a lot of stress, and woke up in the middle of the night, with extreme dizziness. For 4 months, not one doctor asked me about my stress level. Not one doctor thought to send me to a massage therapist.
So after a ton of research... and some strange neck pain, due to sitting in front of a computer for years, AND falling asleep on the train for 2 hours a day, while leaning my head forward.
I realized that the nerves in my neck were a concern. I started to go to a massage therapist once a week. I took up Yoga, and did that at least 4 times a week. My ears were also clogged for the 4 months, it felt as if my sinuses were inflammed, but x-rays showed that wasn't the case... so with the massage therapy, yoga, and bitting into a hard carrot that popped my ear...I felt so much better!
Then this week, the same dizziness started to happen. I realized that for the past 2 weeks, I have not been wearing my night guard that protects my teeth at night from grinding and clenching them. I have also been at my desk at work in front of the computer more than usual. But this time I am prepared... and I'm booking my massage appointment for tomorrow night, and I'm wearing my night guard starting tonight.
So for all of you - ask yourself these questions;
1. Do you clench/grind your teeth? (if so, go to a dentist to get a night guard made
2. Do you hunch over a desk all day in front of a computer, stretch your neck and shoulders, and treat yourself to a back massage ASAP!
3. Are you stressed? |

Hello, Thank-you very much for all the info on dizziness.
My name is Kristine and I am 20 years old. I have been experiencing vertigo or dizzy spells about seven times in 3 years. I always get a 'warning' before the climax of an episode - the warning is vertigo and nausea. These symptoms get worse and worse and most of the time I get so dizzy that I actually face plant. Ive tried holding on to railings to hold myself up but that doesn't work.
I just had another episode tonight but before falling I laid down on the floor.
After each episode of extreme vertigo, nausea, and falling, Tears fall down my face.
And its crazy - Usually after I fall I feel 100% better.
I went to the Doctor for this when I had my first episode - I had blood work done which came back normal and He told me that I probably just have some inner ear equilibrium problem.
I think Im going to go to A Doctor tomorrow.
Does anyone have any idea of what I might have? ? ? ? and What can I do?
Thank-you very much. |
