Have just been to the doctors again and she's finally agreed to put me forward for funding. She's putting a strong case forward but she said it's hit and miss whether I get funding or not. Just gotta wait to hear back now. Am happy that finally something is being done though!

keep pestering the doctors - tell him how this is not just physical pain but mentally straining on you as well as your partner or family members they have to see you thru the painful shoulders painful back people talking to your breasts instead of your face. If you keep on at them and stress how depressed you are getting it will bring thing forward a lot quicker. the weight in 27 bm but this is a safety guide as the higher the bm the greater risk of getting infection so do not see that as a doctors get out clause it is there protection. I had an infection after my surgery and believe me if you can do anything to help avoid that you will want to. Very Happy

I think it so unfair the way the different pcts work depending where you live, am roughly the same size as you a 32 H but am 35 years old, i went to my G.P in June and explained i have not been happy since i was 16 bearing in mind i was a FF untill i stared having kids when i was 24 and i went up a cup size after each of my 3 kids and the mad thing is am alot slimmer now!!! she referred me my B.M.I is 24 but i never really been overweight anyway. she did say i may have to fight my case. my appoinment to see consultant came through very quick and i was seen 24 th july, he asked me a few question why i wanted op doing, examined me and told me i could have it and am now on a 18 week at the most waiting list. i didnt feel under any pressure what so ever or have to fight my case. good luck with your appeal, put your P.C.T under pressure and ask them why? it make me so mad as its N.H.S money what gives them the right to turn people down, i think if you put them under pressure you may win.

I have received a letter today inviting me back to the hospital to see another doctor. I had my first visit with a consultant in may and was waiting to hear what the PCT said. I am assuming I may have been accepted otherwise i wouldnt have a 2nd appt. I really hope this is the case. I live in Leicester but am using the Rugby hospital.

Will you keep posted after Weds.

Hi, my name is Katie and i am 22. I had breast reduction surgery 2 weeks ago. My referal date was the 26th June and my pre op was on the 11th Sep. My surgeon was excllant, my scars are really neat and tidy, my breasts are quite swollen still but look loads better. I had my surgery at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. My breast size was a 34G and i am a size 8/10 frame. I had problems with my back and had really bad shoulder pains and had dints in my shoulders with the weight of my bust. I am really happy that i had the surgery and urge women to think about this long and hard and do abit of research beforehand. I would say that by breasts are a D now but you cant really tell at the moment with the swelling, i have had no problems just that one of my breats is more swollen that the other but i have no pain with it. If you are considering this op, dont be scared, it will be the best thing that you do, i was scared obviously but the doctors and nurses were brilliant with me and i couldnt thank them more for what they have done. If anyone wants any advice, please dont hesitate to reply back.

KT[ Hi My name is Bev, have just logged on to this site and have read about your breast reduction surgery, I am having mine done on 22nd October (2 days time) am getting a bit nervouse about it and also excited. Have always been on the large side with my chest. From as young as 14 I have had issues with them! Its taken me three children and a lot of years to get to having the operation. I am a 34FF right now and would love to be 34C. Just wondering if this is going to be the right size for me? please let me know what you think. So many women suffer for so many years with large breasts, had lots of unwanted attention, backache, neckache and a nitemare finding anything nice to fit me. Be glad to hear from you

Hi Bev
Glad to hear that all went well, sounds like you are really happy with the results. I was quite swollen after my op but it will go down, i am still swollen on one breast but have been told that this will go down in time. Afterthe swelling has gone down you will get an idea of what size they will be (how weired is it to have small breasts)
Keep me posted how your getting on and hope you feel better soon!! Kate x Very Happy

I AVE GONE DOWN TO A 34D ( I BOUGHT MY FIRST BRA YESTERDAY AND IT WAS SO WEIRED). WHEN I LOOK DOWN AT MY BREASTS THEY SEEM SO SMALL BECAUSE THEY WERE SO LARGE BEFORE BUT ITS TH BEST THING THAT I HAVE DONE, I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD GO FOR A D CUP AS I WAS SUPRISED HOW SMALL MINE LOOKED, BUT THEY ARE GREAT, I DONT BEVEN HAVE TO WEAR A BRA!! ONE OF MY BREASTS IS STILL QUITE SWOLLEN BUT I HAVE HAD 2 ULTRASOUNDS AND THEY SAY THAT THIS IS QUITE NORMAL AND THAT IT WLL GO DOWN IN TIME. I WENT SHOPPING YESTERDAY FOR NEW CLOTHES AS NOTHNG FITS ME NOW AND IT WAS AMAZING TO GO INTO SHOPS AND NOT TO AUTOMATICALLY DISMSS CLOTHES AS I KNW I JUST COULDNT WEAR THEM. I HAVE BOUGHT AN AMAZING LITTLE BLACK DRESS AND I FELT AMAZING WHEN I PUT IT ON, ITS NOW HANGING IN MY CLOSIT AND I WOULD HAVE NEVER LOOKED AT IT BEFORE WHEN I HAD BIG BREASTS!! IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING ELSE PLEASE DROP A LINE. GOOD LUCK!!!!! X X X Very Happy

Hi Katie, Thanks for your reply, just sitting here excited and a bit nervous about tomorrow........ am glad I asked you about going for a C or D cup, keep going over and over it and could not make a decision, think you are right about going for a D as a C may be too small for me after being so big..... Want to get it done and be able to go and chose nice bra's and tops in a few weeks time!!! Never been able to wear anything really nice, am getting married for the second time next August and would love a strapless dress!! I will let you know how I get on soon. Thanks again. B x
HI BEV, GLAD YOU HAVE COME TO A DECISION, I'M SURE IT WILL BE THE RIGHT ONE FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK FOR TOMORROW AND LET ME KNOW HOW YOU HAVE GONE ON!! X X X X Very Happy
Hi Katie, thanx, yeah really happy, a bit sore and as you say swollen but am coping with it. Have come off the strong pain killers as they made me feel a bit sick and sleepy. Can't stop looking at my small boobs!! it's still like they are not mine. Is good to talk to you, you sound happy too with the new you. Will keep in touch, thanx for your support. Bev x
