Hi Stuart, I have been told I have labyrinthitus , and know exacltly how you are feeling. It gets totally in the way of your life. I am taking Ginko Biloba forte, by Black mores, but if you cannot obtain in, (I am in Australia), go to a naturopath and get a quality strength. It has been given substantial trial, and worth it if it works! I am also going to see a homeopath asap to see what he can offer. I have been suffering with this for a few weeks now and it is relentless. Started on the ginko yestrday so I am praying it helps. Hope it works for you too.
Check out the websites and getas much info on this symptom as you can. Good luck! |

| I have been suffering with Dizziness also for over 6 months. I get acute bouts which last between 1-3 weeks where I really am unable to get up or walk around, the rest of the time I am just dizzy. I can work when its not acute but I have to move slowly and I always feel sick and nauseous. Have got an MRI Scan tomorrow. Started Ginco Biloba last month and it seems to have helped (no more acute bouts since then) but the general dizzness and sick feeling is driving me crazy, its always there and it effects everything. I feel like my life has been taken over, I have become a completely different person. I cant do all the things I love (or at least I dont enjoy them the way I used to) and I try to avoid everything for fear of the dizziness getting worse. Hope you all get better soon, people dont understand how debilitating this is!! |

| Hi Matt, just wanted to say i have been advised not to take the gingko as it acts as a vessel dialator! Ginko is supposed to help with dizziness, but i went on the docs advise and didn't keep taking it., just in case it aggravated the condition. I have had a series of hearing and balance tests at a hospital here. It was very thorough, and I feel this is the best way to go, so they can test all the areas of balance and ascertain exactly what is going on. So visit yr ent specialist, and get a referral to have these tests done. I had a clear result from the cat scan. These tests will show if anything is out of whack. I will be posting the results of mine , it may be of help to others who have also been subjected to the constant dizziness. |

Hello People,
I sympathise with you all - the dizziness thing really does spoil your quality of life.
I've experienced spells of mild dizziness that last for 1-2 weeks at a time. The dizziness is not accompanied by headaches or any other symptoms to speak of besides general lethargy. I have experienced the dizziness on several occasions over the last 2 years
- the episodes were several months apart and the sensation stays with me for about a fortnight.
On each occasion I have visited my GP who has said that I have had a "virus" - on each occasion he checks my blood pressure and on a recent visit took a blood sample and found no irregularities.
The episode I'm experiencing at the moment lasted 2 weeks, went away for 1 week and returned and has been with me for just over 2 weeks (infuriating....).
Anyway - a chemist has pointed me in the direction of some alternative supplements that may help - Serrazyme (£20 for a pot of tablets!) and Vinca Minor (same sort of effect as Gingko).
I've been taking them for a week now with no real improvement so don't rush out and buy them just yet!!. I'm going to go back to the Docs next week if thing dont get better..........
Would be interested to hear how any of you guys get on after referrals from GP's to specialists. |

Hey Limey!!!
Sorry to hear about your problems. I too am young...only 20 and I'm fed up with not being able to work or go out with my friends.
I wanted to know if the Vestibular exercises helped you? Also what kind of dizziness do you have? Spinning? Falling? or general light headedness? |

Hi,
Allthought I feel for all of you, its nice to see that I'm not alone feeling like this. I've had continuous dizziness since May 2004, and I have no clue when it'll be going away. I've had so many tests done since then...it's unbelievable. I was living in Japan at the time, finishing my Masters and I had to leave and come back to Canada coz my condition was only getting worst. Bottom line is, according to ALL Doctors, there's nothing wrong with me. I've been reffered to go see a psychologist also, but not everyone can affort such luxury. I've realized over time that the only way to start and feel better is to stop thinking about this. I know it's not easy, God knows I have a hard time doing it (me being on this web page proves so). Worst thing you can do I think, is stop living normally. Keep active and get your mind off of it. The few times I was able to do so, I've noticed that the dizziness didn't come. Try to keep positive, don't think about the worst case scenario, do things that you enjoy doing, avoid fighting with others, eat well... I know it all sounds stupid, but it has worked for me on occasion. Hope you all get better soon...Till then, keep smilling |
