Premier League Transfer Window

I don't think there are many football supporters here, but we are currently at the time of the season when Premier League clubs can buy and sell players. During the rest of the season, clubs can only take on players who do not have a contract with any other club.



Is this fair on the clubs ?



Some teams like Chelsea, Man Utd etc have large squads and competition for each position.



Sadly, others are not able to afford such depth in their squad which makes it harder to compete. It is also a problem when they have players injured.



Is there a better method whereby these teams can strengthen their squads.
