Ive just been reading these posts and im really shocked at the treatment some of you have received.
I am 25 years old and today i went to see my plastic surgeon and ive been approved for a breast reduction. I went to see my GP in august, the PCT said yes to me in september and i had a wait of 8 weeks to see the surgeon.
I cannot believe people are saying that you cannot get a breast reduction in England, this is simply not true, its just that the NHS has strict guidelines for who can and who cannot have a BR.
You must have a BMI of under 25 and your breasts must be large enough to warrant 500g to be taken from each boob. You must give up smoking and some PCTs may ask you to lose weight, its a small price to pay for smaller boobs.
Im a member of a very good forum called breasthealthonline google it, its very good and has a lot more advice and facts and hundreds of women from England who are having BR's on the NHS.
Dont give up hope!

x[/quote] i agree with you on this, i didnt have any probs either, some PCTs are more generous and say you need a BMI of under 27 . do think though some pct are more tighter with there budgets so it is a battle to get something like a BR, which it shouldnt be! |
