I wondered what ppl here thought. Most Australians appear to be outraged by the harsh sentence of 20 yrs given to S Corby after she was found guilty of smuggling 4 kg of marijuana into Bali airport.
If she's guilty (which seems highly probable although she's pleading innocence, but don't they all?) then surely she deserves the punishment? I mean whatever the inadequacies of the Indonesian govt may be, when you're travelling abroad you should make sure you know and respect the laws of that country, otherwise as an adult who else but yourself is there to blame? |

I agree twenty years is completely ott, but d'you know what I mean when I say if that's the law, and it's no secret; then you commit the crime, you do the time, people should think about the consequences beforehand, right?? (imho anyway, for what it's worth!)And they can't start making exceptions for one person just because the media has gotten onto it!
Also Marijuana is thought to be addictive and increase the chances of leading onto harder drugs.A stand has got to be taken somewhere I suppose. |
